PRIVATE LESSONS / PERSONAL TRAINING

Why Private Lessons?
Private Lessons are a great way to learn Self Defense at your own pace, or to enhance your current level of training. They are specifically designed to meet your needs and to help you maximize the benefits of your training. In Private Lessons, the focus is entirely on YOU, and what you want to achieve from a single lesson or a series of classes. You receive the one on one personal attention from the instructor that may not always be possible in a group class setting. This provides you with the opportunity to correct movements, learn faster and focus on your areas of weakness, turning them into strengths. The benefits of Private Instruction are enormous.

Private Lessons vs. Group Classes
Both Private Lessons and Group Clases have their benefits. Group Classes provide the variety that one on one personal training cannot. It is important that you have the opportunity to practise your self defense skills with an assortment of different body types, sizes, speeds, demeanours, intensity, etc… This is where you will develop the true confidence in the skills that you have learned. Group Lessons also provide the opportunity to practise being real situations, like being assaulted by more than one person at a time. The ultimate learning experience is through a combination of both Private and Group Training.

What Happens during a Private Lesson?
Private Lessons are run similarly to a group class; the difference is that the focus is entirely on you and what you want to achieve. A lesson can be used to practise your current skills, assess your needs, focus on specific tactics, learn advanced techniques, etc… Private Sessions can be used for whatever YOU want!

Topics for Private Instruction could include:

  • Introduction to Bojuka
  • Principles of Self Protection
  • Bojuka Skill Level One
  • Bojuka Skill Level Two
  • Bojuka Skill Level Three
  • Pressure Points (Kyusho Jitsu)
  • Flashlight Self Defense
  • Escapes from Common Street Holds
    (grab, bearhug, headlock, choke, etc...)
  • Weapons Disarming (knife, stick, gun)
  • Avoidance and Awareness
  • Rape Prevention and Defense
  • Women's Self Defense
  • Law Enforcement Defensive Tactics
  • Expandable Baton Training
  • Personal Weapon Retention
  • Improvised Weapons Tactics
  • Fear Management

Please note that some topics will only be taught to advanced students or Law Enforcement and Security professionals.
